Who are Gabourey and ”Curious George” – The Pros & Cons of Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery Revealed?

If you’re looking for a quick and easy weight loss fix, you can’t go past the new weight loss supplement that is being touted today. actress Gabourey Sidibe quickly became famous after starring in her very first film, Precious, a small role that earned her an Academy Award and several Golden Globe nominations! However, the amazing actress who played Precious also had a rapid weight loss transformation after secretly undergoing surgery under the knife just over a year ago, resulting in a 200 pounds loss!

It seems that what is going on with precious star is that she had a very radical lifestyle change in the span of a few months, changing her diet and portion sizes drastically. The beautiful Gabourey was seen last week at a Los Angeles hospital after undergoing liposuction and gastric bypass surgery. Although the surgery appeared to be a success, it is important to note that it did not restore the actress’s body weight; instead, it merely streamlined her stomach and waist. This means that she still has a long way to go when it comes to adopting a healthy and sensible eating habits and lifestyle.

It is quite common to see celebrities suffering from a melt-down once in a while. However, Gabourey’s unfortunate weight loss transformation may actually be a bigger problem. Many believe that this young plus sized actress could be suffering from bulimia or anorexia. She recently showed off her newly slim physique in a series of pictures posted on her social media pages. In one of the photos, she looked incredibly lean and fit, however in another she was holding her skin taut as she attempted to hide her newly swollen stomach. Most experts agree that although she may be experiencing a weight loss transformation, bulimia or anorexia are much more serious conditions.

Gabourey is not the first young star to undergo a weight loss transformation. Angelina Jolie lost a staggering 50 pounds over the course of just ten months but faced numerous criticisms because she claimed to have been inspired by designer clothing while undergoing the process. Perhaps the most famous young woman to ever lose weight is Julia Roberts, who cut off all of her diets and completely turned herself into a purist of healthy eating when she was filming the movie ”A Woman In Shape.” Whether or not the young actresses are truly healthy and in need of medical attention remains to be seen, but the unfortunate trend for celebrities to undergo weight-loss surgeries in order to look slimmer is certainly not a healthy practice for women to go through.

If Gabourey is having problems eating properly, she certainly isn’t the first actress to have this problem. In fact, many young celebrities find themselves binge eating or binging after they’ve had some successful film acting careers. The difference between these women and Gabourey is that they are able to bounce back from these binges without enduring any major health complications. For this reason, it is much more likely that Gabourey is undergoing a medical procedure in order to improve her eating habits rather than suffer through the same surgery as countless other actresses before her.

The bottom line is that everyone will react differently to various medical interventions. For Gabourey, however, the laparoscopic bariatric surgery may be the best option for improving her quality of life as an actor and to improve her health. If you or someone you know is considering undergoing a similar medical procedure, consider speaking to your doctor before doing so. It never hurts to ask for the pros and cons of the laparoscopic gastric band or any other weight loss strategy.
